On Saturday, the Florence-Carlton Falcons faced the Stillwater Christian Cougars in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Florence-Carlton was the clear victor by a 66-41 margin over Stillwater Christian. Fans of Florence-Carlton have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaden Drish, who scored 9 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Strobel, who scored 8 points along with 3 steals.
The win (which was Florence-Carlton's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27.67 points. As for Stillwater Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Florence-Carlton will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on St. Ignatius at 5:30 p.m. on December 21st. After both having extra time off, Stillwater Christian and Lincoln County will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 8:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
