The Opp Bobcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. The contest between Opp and Elba wasn't particularly close, with Opp falling 58-44. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Opp of the 57-43 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Despite the loss, Opp still got an impressive performance from Dorian Harris, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Harris hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Colby Ballard, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds.
Opp bumped their record down to 2-19 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Elba, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Opp will square off against Daleville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elba, Elba and Brantley will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Brantley is ranked 268th, while Elba is ranked 280th).
