Struthers is 9-1 against Hubbard since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Struthers Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Hubbard Eagles at 6:15 p.m. Struthers is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Thursday, things could have been worse for Struthers, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 54-40 loss to South Range.
Meanwhile, Hubbard beat McKinley 54-41 on Thursday.
Hubbard's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cara Geen, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Those six rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Khamyah Howell, who scored eight points along with eight steals and five rebounds.
Struthers' loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Hubbard, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Everything came up roses for Struthers against Hubbard when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 63-26 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Struthers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
