The Del Norte Nighthawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Point Loma Pointers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Del Norte walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 26-11 win over Oceanside on Friday.
Del Norte's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Ty Olsen, who picked up 53 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Jack Schneider, who threw for 132 yards and three touchdowns.
Del Norte's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Khalid Farah was especially locked on to Oceanside's QB and sacked him twice.
Meanwhile, Point Loma put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Scripps Ranch 32-12. Winning may never get old, but Point Loma sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Brady Allen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 120 yards and three touchdowns.
Del Norte's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Point Loma, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4.
Del Norte was taken down by Point Loma 49-14 in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Thankfully for Del Norte, Noah Turbeville (who rushed for 409 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 24.1 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
