Linden was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after defeating Swartz Creek. The Eagles came in at 23 in the state poll after placing at number 43 last week.
Brandon moved up to 324 from 351 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Flint Metro. The Blackhawks were able to make move up by topping Clio 32-27.
Linden's dynamic duo of Shaye Brown and Travis Hull proved tough for the Dragons to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Brown threw for 284 yards and four touchdowns and Hull had 124 yards receiving. Ed Walterhouse helped Linden's passing attack out by catching four balls for 48 yards.
Matt Sears was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 10 carries, he ran for 106 yards as Brandon bested Swartz Creek. Teammate Blake Nivelt added to the ground attack by rushing for 47 yards.
Brad Brown's team's Jaylen Schoenfield and Max Cummings have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Schoenfield has thrown for 2535 yards this season, while Cummings, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 57 catches for 1156 yards. Trent Grimes from Fenton leads the league in rushing with 618 yards.
The Tigers extended the longest winning streak in Flint Metro this week by beating Lapeer West, 30-21. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
