Shining Light Academy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Guilford Home Educators Heat at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Shining Light Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight matches.

Given Shining Light Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 186th, while Atkins is ranked 425th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Alik Lewis was his usual excellent self, going 6 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 38 points and 4 assists. Lewis is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Jayden Adams was another key contributor, dropping a triple-double on ten points, ten rebounds, and ten assists.
Guilford Home Educators suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on January 8th. They had to suffer through a rough 81-48 loss at the hands of South Wake. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Guilford Home Educators has scored all season.
Shining Light Academy pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.1 points per game. As for Guilford Home Educators, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
Everything went Shining Light Academy's way against Guilford Home Educators in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as Shining Light Academy made off with a 78-57 victory.
