The Arbor View Aggies will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Shadow Ridge Mustangs at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Arbor View is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Bishop Gorman. The Aggies' pitcher stepped up to hand the Gaels a 4-0 shutout on Monday. The Aggies have beaten the Gaels the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Gaels has come to flipping the script.
Not much got past Audrey Melton, who gave up just five hits and racked up six Ks to keep Bishop Gorman off the board.
At the plate, Arbor View's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Shawnee Casorla, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday Shadow Ridge sidestepped Doral Academy Red Rock for an 8-6 win.
Melia Aionaaka made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2025. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Devaeh Crawford, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Breanna Nielsen was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Arbor View skirted past Shadow Ridge 5-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Will the Aggies repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
