The Norview Pilots will square off against the Bayside Marlins at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Bayside took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Norview, who comes in off a win.
Norview headed into their last contest having not scored more than two runs for four straight, but Norcom let them put that streak behind them. The Pilots blew past the Greyhounds 16-4 on Friday. The Pilots not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 30, 2024.

Valerie Miranda was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 1-for-3. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, Brenna Foster was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing five bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those runs were her first of the season. Reannah Sanders was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Norview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Bayside's offense. They came up short against First Colonial on Thursday, falling 8-0. The Marlins have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.
Norview's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Bayside, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
Norview's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's matchup. The Pilots have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Bayside, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Norview continue to outrun the ball?
Norview might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Bayside in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. Will the Pilots have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
