The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Ben Holt College Prep Academy has three straight victories, Chavez has 13 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
Ben Holt College Prep Academy proved they can win big on Friday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Lincoln 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bobcats have posted since August 23rd.
Ben Holt College Prep Academy took Lincoln into a fifth set where they got it done with a nine-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-20, 23-25, 16-25, 15-6.
Chavez had taken Weston Ranch down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Titans fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-2. While the Titans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cougars 25-21 in the first set.
Chavez started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 20-25, 25-21, 25-18, 15-8.
Chavez's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Ben Holt College Prep Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.
Ben Holt College Prep Academy beat Chavez 2-0 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
