Marietta came tearing into Saturday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 58-53 victory over the Galloway Scots. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while the Scots are ranked 439th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Marietta pushed their record up to 10-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.4 points per game. As for Galloway, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.

Marietta is taking a road trip to challenge Etowah at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Galloway, they will host The Weber School at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Galloway is facing The Weber School at the right time seeing as The Weber School is stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
