The Scranton Rockets are taking a road trip to challenge the Clarksville Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Scranton came out on top against Nemo Vista on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run second inning. The Rockets blew past the Red Hawks 14-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rockets.

DeLaney Mainer (2026) made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Scranton got a massive performance out of Mackenzie Croft (2028), who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Marrissa Layes (2026), who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Scranton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2025.
Clarksville never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Waldron on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 12-1 win.
Addison Phillips was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Tosca Rodgerson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Scranton's record is now 13-4. As for Clarksville, their record now sits at 6-10.
Clarksville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Scranton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .438. It's a different story for Clarksville, though, as they've only averaged .258. Will they be able to contain Scranton's hitters?
Scranton might still be hurting after the 18-1 defeat they got from Clarksville in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can the Rockets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
