The Puckett Wolves are taking a road trip to square off against the St. Andrew's Episcopal Saints at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Puckett's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so St. Andrew's Episcopal's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Puckett fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Stringer on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Red Devils by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wolves have suffered since March 27, 2024.

Eli Rankin put in work while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other batting news, Wilkes Carter was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Tim Axton was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, St. Andrew's Episcopal made easy work of French Camp Academy on Saturday and carried off a 13-1 victory. Considering the Saints have won six contests by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Stone Myrick was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Sargeant Moriarity, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
St. Andrew's Episcopal is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Puckett and nudges their season record down to 12-3.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Puckett has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .451. However, it's not like St. Andrew's Episcopal struggles in that department as they've averaged .448. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Puckett might still be hurting after the 12-0 defeat they got from St. Andrew's Episcopal when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Puckett avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
