Summit Academy had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped down to 1-3 to make it seven. They fell 17-12 to the Emery Spartans. Even though they lost, the Bears' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 7.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Trace Gedicks and Talin Hill stepped up to the plate in a big way. Gedicks got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI, while Hill got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Brydan Horrocks was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three runs and one RBI.
Emery's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
