Meanwhile, even though Pine Plains scored an imposing 64 points on Wednesday, Mount Academy still came out on top. Mount Academy took down Pine Plains 78-64.
Mount Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Donovan Baird out in front who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Baird has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Maendel, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds.
Webutuck bumped their record down to 0-8 with that loss, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Mount Academy, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
Webutuck was dealt a bruising 80-37 defeat at the hands of Mount Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Mount Academy's Dennis Hofer, who shot 4-for-5 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Now that Webutuck knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
