With a playoff win on the line, Butler rose to the challenge on Thursday. They walked away with a 57-49 win over the Union County Panthers. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their 14th in a row.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Vince Marevka, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Hughes, who posted 14 points.
Butler's victory bumped their record up to 21-8. As for Union County, they moved to 26-6 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
