Bartlett Yancey posted their biggest win yet this season on Friday. They breezed by Graham at home to the tune of 68-30.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bartlett Yancey to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kelmontrae Willis, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Willis has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Matthew Sidney, who scored 17 points.
Meanwhile, even though Southeast Alamance scored an imposing 66 points on Wednesday, Cummings still came out on top. Cummings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 68-66 win over Southeast Alamance. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Cummings has posted yet this season.
Cummings got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ja'Kari Dobbins out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 17 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja'Kway Robertson, who scored 15 points.
Bartlett Yancey's record now sits at 4-8. Cummings' record is now 7-5.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Bartlett Yancey have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 28.2 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Cummings, though, as they've been averaging only 33.5 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Bartlett Yancey came up short against Cummings in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 51-45. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Dobbins, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.
