The Jefferson Panthers entered their tilt with the Broadwater Bulldogs with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Jefferson simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Broadwater 65-35 at home. The result was nothing new for Jefferson, who have now won five games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jefferson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cameron Toney, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. That's the first time this season that Toney scored 15 or more points. Arena Faler was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds.
Jefferson pushed their record up to 8-1 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Broadwater, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Jefferson will be playing in front of their home fans against White Sulphur Springs at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. White Sulphur Springs' defense has only allowed 29.2 points per game this season, so Jefferson's offense will have their work cut out for Jefferson. Broadwater will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Shields Valley at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
