Basketball Recap: Plateau Valley Piles Up the Points Against Caprock Academy

Plateau Valley won the last time they faced Caprock Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The Plateau Valley Cowboys blew past the Caprock Academy Eagles 65-34. The Cowboys have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 25 points or more this season.

Leading Plateau Valley to victory were Macy Bevan and Emaline Ealey. Bevan went 8-for-12 en route to 19 points in addition to seven boards and three steals, while Ealey went 8-for-10 on her way to 20 points and four steals. Ealey continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Payton Wilkerson was another key player, putting up six points and five assists.

Plateau Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in five consecutive contests.

Plateau Valley's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Caprock Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Plateau Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 43-29 win against Soroco on the 15th. As for Caprock Academy, they will take on Grand Junction Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
