Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Chambers/Wheeler Central, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 60-42 loss to Elgin/Pope John. Chambers/Wheeler Central has struggled against Elgin/Pope John recently, as their match on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Chambers/Wheeler Central's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Elijah Heinz, who scored 14 points, and William Jesse who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Jesse, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Neligh-Oakdale took a serious blow against Wausa on Thursday, falling 70-34. Neligh-Oakdale was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-18.
Chambers/Wheeler Central's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-14. As for Neligh-Oakdale, they dropped their record down to 1-17 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.
Chambers/Wheeler Central came up short against Neligh-Oakdale in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 53-40. Can Chambers/Wheeler Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
