The Moses Brown Quakers will head out to challenge the Prout Crusaders at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Moses Brown has given up an average of 10.5 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Moses Brown barely beat St. Mary Academy-Bay View the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Quakers were the clear victors by a 25-11 margin over the Bengals on Thursday. That looming 25-11 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Quakers yet this season.

Coco Medeiros made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in five of her seven plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Abby DeWolf was a standout: she went 3-for-6 with four runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Elodie Cannon was another key player, getting on base in six of her seven plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Moses Brown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Prout's offense. They lost 12-0 to Chariho last Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Crusaders have suffered against the Chargers since April 8, 2023.
Prout's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5. As for Moses Brown, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-7.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Moses Brown hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .338. However, it's not like Prout struggles in that department as they've averaged .316. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Moses Brown might still be hurting after the 14-2 defeat they got from Prout in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Quakers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
