The Alpine Bucks posted their biggest win since November 28, 2023 on Friday. They put the hurt on Compass Academy with a sharp 56-32 victory. The victory was nothing new for Alpine as they're now sitting on five straight.
Novah Carrasco was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Alpine's points. Hope Dominguez was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Compass Academy saw an underclassman step up: Peyton Stewart scored eight points along with 15 rebounds and five steals. Stewart also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season.
Compass Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Alpine racked up 12 assists.
Alpine's win bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Compass Academy, they dropped their record down to 2-14 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.
Alpine will take on Crane at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Crane will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. As for Compass Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Presidio at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
