The Richland County Tigers will face off against the Fairfield Mules at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Richland County barely beat Teutopolis the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Wooden Shoes on Monday. That looming 13-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Tigers yet this season.
Taylor Bloomer made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025.

While Fairfield didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on Woodlawn with a sharp 14-1 victory on Saturday. The Mules might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by seven runs or more this season.
Fairfield got a massive performance out of Dalanie Ellis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. Those hits were Ellis' first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kiersten Vaughan, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
Fairfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Woodlawn only posted an OBP of .250.
Richland County's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Fairfield, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-2.
Everything went Richland County's way against Fairfield in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Richland County made off with an 8-0 win. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mules turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
