Softball Recap: South Sumter Takes a Loss

South Sumter lost against Eustis back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The South Sumter Raiders fell just short of the Eustis Panthers by a score of 8-6. The Raiders' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Hailey Hickman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

South Sumter's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Eustis, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1.

Coming up, South Sumter will take on Vanguard at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eustis, they will face off against Lake Howell at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Lake Howell 4.1, Eustis 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
