Softball Recap: Senn Extends Winning Streak to Five

Senn entered their tilt with Von Steuben on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 9-4. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Audrey Lebovitz made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 18 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Senn let Pippa Gerharz and Gabrielle Smith run wild. Gerharz went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Smith got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Gerharz is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Margelys (Victoria) Rodriguez also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Senn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Von Steuben only posted an OBP of .364.

Senn pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Von Steuben, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Senn will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
