Premont has struggled against Santa Gertrudis Academy recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Santa Gertrudis Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaitlyn `mejia, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikyela Munoz, who scored nine points.
Premont has fallen quite a ways from their 25-7 record last season and are now at 0-9. As for Santa Gertrudis Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Premont will be home for the holidays to greet La Villa at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Santa Gertrudis Academy, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Odem at 11:00 a.m. on December 20th. Odem comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
