2A-1 Region I District 4 recap Oct. 23, 2012
Eastland's Brandon Allen rumbled for the longest rushing play in 2A-1 Region I District 4 this season in his game against Dublin last week. Allen ran for 74 yards on the play and finished with 204 on the day as his team bested the Lions.
Josh Moylan and Clint Galyean provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Dublin. The longest such play in the league this season, the connection resulted in 86 yards.
Moylan provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Eastland topped Dwayne Ross' team. He completed 10 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 84 yards. Moylan's favorite target this week was Galyean, who caught five passes for 127 yards.
Clint Lesley threw for 249 yards and three touchdowns. He went 14-22 with two interceptions.
Clyde's Lesley and Jon Seabourn have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Lesley has thrown for 1607 yards this season, while Seabourn, a 5-foot-7 receiver, has 43 catches for 678 yards. Allen from Brian Hulett's team leads the league in rushing with 840 yards.
A big matchup in 2A-1 Region I District 4 this week will be when the Mavericks take on Comanche. Eastland is in first place, while the Indians are in fifth place.
The Bulldogs moved up to 703 from 743 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Clyde climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Comanche 42-39.
