The River Ridge Royal Knights will square off against the East Lake Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (River Ridge 2.9, East Lake 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
While River Ridge's victory against Cypress Creek wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. River Ridge had just enough and edged out Cypress Creek 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Royal Knights in their matchups with the Coyotes: they've now won seven in a row.
Kylie Schuler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, River Ridge's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Mackenzie Vozdecky, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Lake). They blew past Canterbury 15-1 on Monday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.
Anna Folger made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, East Lake got a massive performance out of Meagan Bostak, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Bostak a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ali Sheffield, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
East Lake kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Canterbury only managed two hits.
River Ridge's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for East Lake, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
