The Horizon Science Academy Hawks had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Patriot Prep Academy by a score of 41-34 on Thursday. The victory was just what Horizon Science Academy needed coming off of a 36-14 defeat in their prior matchup.
It was another big night for Hawa Ba, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Halima Elmi was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Despite the defeat, Patriot Prep Academy saw an underclassman step up: Faith Thomas scored 29 points. That was a full 85.3% of Patriot Prep Academy's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Horizon Science Academy's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-9. As for Patriot Prep Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Horizon Science Academy will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Presidents at 6:30 p.m. on February 7th. As for Patriot Prep Academy, they will challenge the Bobcats at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Grandview Heights presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Eagles in Ohio (the Bobcats are ranked 334th, while the Eagles are ranked 723rd).
