Delaware Christian had lost four straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 2-8 to make it five. They fell 6-1 to the Tree of Life Christian Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-12 back in April.

Caden Beck was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Delaware Christian is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 0-7 otherwise. Beck was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
Beck wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Yoby, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.
As for Tree of Life Christian, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games.
Like Delaware Christian, Tree of Life Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Andrew Jackson. Throwing, Jackson didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Bishoy Bishara tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At bat, Jackson earned two RBI and one stolen base, while Bishara went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Jacob Brown was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Meshach Bishara, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Coincidentally, Delaware Christian and Tree of Life Christian will both be playing Shekinah Christian the next time they take the field. The Trojans will head out to face the Flames at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Eagles will host them at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
