After a string of eight wins, Pope John Paul II's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the Mt. Carmel Cubs by a score of 7-6. The Jaguars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cubs from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Pope John Paul II's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Mt. Carmel, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.
