Softball Recap: Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin Beats Magnificat for Their Seventh Straight Win

Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin waltzed into their match on Wednesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They put the hurt on the Magnificat Blue Streaks with a sharp 16-1 victory. Considering the Lions have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Becca Wooke, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Maya Rowan, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in three consecutive contests.

Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin pushed their record up to 10-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Magnificat, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin will take on Beaumont School at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions are facing the Blue Streaks at the right time seeing as the Blue Streaks are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Magnificat, they will challenge Lutheran West at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
