The Galena Grizzlies will look to defend their home field on Saturday against the Legacy Longhorns at 5:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Galena sitting on six straight victories and Legacy on four.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Galena walked away with it. They walked away with a 18-7 win over Douglas on Friday.
Colson Kermode was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Galena's defense and their three sacks. Maclain Mcbride was especially locked on to Douglas' QB and sacked him twice.
Meanwhile, Legacy faced Palo Verde in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Legacy strolled past Palo Verde with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 34-18.
Galena's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.3 points per game. As for Legacy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
