Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Santa Rosa

Santa Rosa extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Mia Garza. The Santa Rosa Warriors enjoyed a cozy 33-17 victory over the Progreso Red Ants on Tuesday thanks in part to Garza, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in boards.

Another player making a difference was Aiden Garcia, who posted five points in addition to five boards and five steals. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played.

Santa Rosa has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 18.4 points per game. As for Progreso, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Santa Rosa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 31-28 loss against Economedes on the 13th. As for Progreso, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 51-23 defeat against Raymondville on the 17th.
