Volleyball Recap: Lee's Summit North Takes a Loss

Lee's Summit North managed to slip by Lee's Summit West the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Broncos came up short against the Titans on Tuesday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Broncos have suffered since April 21st.

While Lee's Summit North ultimately came up short, they really made Lee's Summit West work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 28-26, 25-22.

Despite the loss, Lee's Summit North saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gavin Duty had 18 digs and two assists. Duty is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last seven games he's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Lee's Summit North and nudges their season record down to 13-9-2. As for Lee's Summit West, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-7-1.

Looking ahead, Lee's Summit North will face off against St. Michael the Archangel at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lee's Summit West, they are taking a road trip to square off against Lee's Summit at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
