Schlarman is 0-9 against Salt Fork since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Schlarman Hilltoppers will head out on the road to take on the Salt Fork Storm at 7:00 p.m. Schlarman is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Schlarman had to suffer through a rough 75-39 loss at the hands of Oakwood. While losing is never fun, Schlarman can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 718th, while Oakwood is ranked 282nd).
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Salt Fork's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a serious blow against Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin, falling 68-38. Salt Fork has not had much luck with Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Schlarman has not been sharp recently as the team has lost 13 of their last 14 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-17 record this season. As for Salt Fork, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-10.
Schlarman suffered a grim 52-29 defeat to Salt Fork in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Schlarman avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
