The Columbus Blue Devils came into Friday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They slipped by Thomasville 36-35 on Friday. The win was just what Columbus needed coming off of a 62-42 loss in their prior matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Columbus to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kartier Ollervidez, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ollervidez has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Alyna Gilbert, who scored 15 points.
Rhaniya Wilson and Jabria Richardson certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Wilson dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds, while Richardson scored seven points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Columbus' win bumped their record up to 8-15. As for Thomasville, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-13.
Columbus will head out on the road to take on the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crisp County is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for Thomasville, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Carver has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 876 points over their last 12 contests.
