Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They really took it to Rio Grande City for the full four quarters, racking up a 57-14 victory on the road. 57 seems to be a good number for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North found their leader in underclassman Ethan Guerra, who rushed for 155 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also picked up 81 receiving yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Fuentes, who picked up 134 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought match, but Donna had to settle for a 31-28 defeat against Harlingen South on Friday. Donna has struggled against Harlingen South recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Donna got a solid performance out of Geoffrey Creighton lefevre, who threw for 375 yards and three touchdowns. Creighton lefevre hasn't dropped below 300 passing yards for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Xavier Rodriguez, who picked up 132 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North's victory lifted them to 10-0 while Donna's defeat dropped them down to 6-4.
We should be in store for an exciting game Thursday as the pair have no problem gaining yardage. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 493.1 total yards per game. However, it's not like Donna struggles in that department as they've been even better at 496.3 per game.
