Wyoming East is 4-0 against Chapmanville Regional since April of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Wyoming East Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Chapmanville Regional Tigers at 1:30 p.m. Wyoming East will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
Last Thursday, Wyoming East didn't have too much trouble with Mercer Christian Academy at home as they won 68-50. Given Wyoming East's advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while Mercer Christian Academy is ranked 40th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wyoming East's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cadence Blackburn, who scored 17 points along with five assists and two steals. Blackburn is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. Another player making a difference was Alivia Monroe, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Chapmanville Regional made easy work of Scott on Thursday and carried off a 68-48 win.
Wyoming East is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season. As for Chapmanville Regional, they pushed their record up to 11-7 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Everything went Wyoming East's way against Chapmanville Regional in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as Wyoming East made off with a 57-34 victory. Will Wyoming East repeat their success, or does Chapmanville Regional have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
