Baseball Recap: Bogue Chitto Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

It's playoff time, and Bogue Chitto had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the North Forrest Eagles by a score of 6-2 on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Bobcats sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Tripp McCaffrey was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double.

In other batting news, Manny Conerly and Tucker Kyzar did most of the damage at the plate: Conerly went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Kyzar went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Bogue Chitto's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-10. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for North Forrest, they moved to 15-8 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Bogue Chitto will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
