For Juan Diego Catholic's part, Jordan Montoya made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. What's more, Montoya posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, Juan Diego Catholic got a big performance out of Kael Buck, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. The Soaring Eagle are 4-1 when Buck posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Aiden Lucero also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Juan Diego Catholic hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.
Juan Diego Catholic's record now sits at 6-4. As for Murray, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Murray hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Juan Diego Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs.
