Hillsboro had lost four straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 7-15 to make it five. They came up short against the Pratt Fighting Frogs, falling 13-1. The Trojans were not able to make up for their loss to the Fighting Frogs from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.
Hillsboro saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Broden Loewen, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
As for Pratt, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Considering they have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
On Pratt's side, Caleb Strong was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Strong was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.
In other pitching news, Juan Fernandez looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
Back at the plate, Pratt got a massive performance out of Cresten Pore, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs Pore has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Thimesch, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Pratt beat Hillsboro by a score of 16-6 later that day.
