Meanwhile, even though Mount Carmel scored an imposing 56 points on Saturday, Loyalsock Township still came out on top. Loyalsock Township strolled past Mount Carmel with points to spare, taking the game 72-56. Given Loyalsock Township's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while Mount Carmel is ranked 340th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Southern Columbia Area is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Loyalsock Township, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1.
Southern Columbia Area might still be hurting after the 72-48 loss they got from Loyalsock Township when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Southern Columbia Area avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
