West Nassau is 8-2 against Yulee since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The West Nassau Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Yulee Hornets at 6:00 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for West Nassau and six for Yulee.
West Nassau suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Friday. They were dealt a 55-28 defeat at the hands of Hilliard. West Nassau has struggled against Hilliard recently, as their matchup on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their loss, West Nassau saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Abagail Bailey, who scored ten points, was perhaps the best of all. That was a full 35.7% of West Nassau's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Yulee was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 38-33 to Impact Christian Academy.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Rheyna Hilton, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds and four blocks. Macey Reynolds was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
West Nassau has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Yulee, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-11.
West Nassau beat Yulee 54-41 in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Hilton, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds.
