The Worth County Tigers's game on Tuesday was all tied up 17-17 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. The match between them and Pattonsburg wasn't particularly close, with Worth County falling 54-39. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Worth County of the 51-38 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kristen Tracy, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kynah Steele, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.
Even though they lost, Worth County were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Worth County dropped their record down to 1-16 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Pattonsburg, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.
Worth County will head out on the road to take on the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Joseph Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Tigers in Missouri (the Lions are ranked 132nd, while the Tigers are ranked 503rd). As for Pattonsburg, they will be playing at home against the Wildkats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
