Mission Trail recap December 3, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Pacific Grove, who defeated 202nd ranked Carmel, 77-53. Luke Lowell threw for 319 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 49 yards during the win.
The Breakers scaled the state rankings by moving to 225 from 312 this week, the biggest jump in Mission Trail. Pacific Grove was able to move up by topping the Padres 77-53.
Connor Marden was a passing and rushing force as Carmel lost to Chris Morgan's team. He completed 25 passes for 295 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 84 yards. Marden's favorite target this week was William Kehoe, who caught 11 passes for 176 yards.
Lowell put up the best numbers through the air as the Breakers beat Golden Anderson's team. Lowell's favorite target this week was Forest Compton, who caught 5 passes for 122 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Padres' Marden and Kehoe have proven to be a lethal combination. Marden has thrown for 2,706 yards this season, while Kehoe has 54 catches for 1,044 yards. Pacific Grove's Jason Leach leads the league in rushing yards with 1,545.
Jake Speed of the the Breakers' is a few catches away from breaking 1,000 yards for the season. He needs only 51 receiving yards in this week's game against Sacred Heart Prep to get there. So far this year, he has acheived 43 catches for 949 yards.
Pacific Grove took down Carmel 77-53 last week, the largest margin of any game. Lowell ran for 49 yards in the win.
