Laurel is 2-8 against Seaford since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Laurel Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Seaford Bluejays at 5:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Laurel posted their closest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Woodbridge and snuck past 72-69.
Meanwhile, Seaford put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 69-36 victory over Indian River on the road. Seaford has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.
Seaford's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Vincent Evans led the charge by scoring 11 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. Evans has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jordan Smith, who scored 15 points.
Laurel's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8. As for Seaford, they pushed their record up to 10-0 with that win, which was their 13th straight on the road.
Laurel came up short against Seaford in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 69-60. Can Laurel avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
