Baseball Recap: Henry County Has No Trouble Against Butler County

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Taylor County, Henry County was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Butler County Bears. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.

Sawyer Yates looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nicholas Bryan, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Henry County: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Camden Peyton, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Henry County's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Butler County, they dropped their record down to 8-7 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Henry County is taking a road trip to square off against Shelby County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Butler County, they will be playing at home against Edmonson County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bears are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
