The Temecula Prep Patriots were the 74-57 winner over the California Lutheran C-Hawks when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Temecula Prep lost to the C-Hawks at home by a decisive 62-45 margin on Monday. Temecula Prep was down 49-29 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Gavin MacNeill and J.T. Rogers certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. MacNeill scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Rogers scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points MacNeill has scored all season. Parker Johnson was another key contributor, scoring four points along with seven rebounds.
California Lutheran's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jonas Vogel, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Ash, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Temecula Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for California Lutheran, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Temecula Prep will take on the Wolves at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. San Jacinto Valley Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.2 points per game this season. As for California Lutheran, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Bobcats at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Hamilton is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
