The Eldorado Sundevils scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 74-51 margin over Amplus Academy. The win was just what Eldorado needed coming off of a 81-23 defeat in their prior contest.
Eldorado had a senior duo take command as Kamarion Durant scored 17 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds and Eric Lechuga dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Durant posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Murillo, who scored five points along with five steals.
Eldorado has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-10 record this season. As for Amplus Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eldorado will challenge Moapa Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Moapa Valley is ranked 83rd, while Eldorado is ranked 75th). Amplus Academy on the road again on Friday and play against Cheyenne at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th.
