The False River Gators are taking a road trip to  take on the St. John Eagles  at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. False River has given up an average of 10.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Having struggled with 14  defeats in a row, False River  turned things around against Family Christian  on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Flames as they made off with  a  20-13 victory. The Gators' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
False River got a  massive  performance out of  Dylon Gentile, who  scored two  runs and  stole  Three bases. while  getting on base  in all five of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave  Gentile a new career-high in  runs. The team also got some help courtesy of  Matthew Gradfeo, who  scored a  run and  stole  Two bases. while going 4-for-6.
 False River  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 18  hits. That's a new  trend for them: they were averaging 3.4  hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 10.4.
 Meanwhile, St. John came tearing into  Tuesday's  contest with five straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with  a   7-3  win over the Tigers. Seven seems to be a good number for the Eagles as the  team scooped up a  victory with the same number of  runs in their previous game.
 St. John pushed their record up to 11-6 with the  win, which was their third straight  at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for False River, their  victory (their first of the  season) made their record 1-15-1.
